For the past 16th  years through the Karunai  illam Charitable Trust we are running an orphanage at Madambakkam, Chennai District South India. In the month of March 1996 we started the Karunai illam Charitable Trust with 10  children (6 Boys & 4 Girls) later in the same year 1 fatherless girl joined our Karunai illam Charitable Trust and was admitted in a school hostel through our karunai Illam Charitable Trust., totally 10 children. Now at present 102 childrens are staying in Karunai Illam Charitable Trust  (60 Boys & 42 Girls).These children are taken care with the help (contributions and donations) from the friends, families and well wishers of the Karunai illam Charitable Trust.
Our Karunai illam Charitable Trust is founded by Shri.Power Singam, in March 1996.

Our vision and mission of the trust are being centered around charitable services to the deprived elders and destitute children, to provide them shelter, food and a peaceful environment and need based social welfare activities.

Mr. Power Singam is staying in the premises where the children are taken care of and she has dedicated her full time to the good cause. he is involved personally in the Trust activities and attends to the children on a day to day basis at No:2, Maruthi Nagar, 1st Street,
Madambakkam Post, Chennai - 600 126.. These children have various types of disorders and disabled and require constant attention, love, reassurance and affirmations of hope and a better tomorrow. They have to be helped at all levels to get integrated with the society. The Trust has taken its responsibility seriously and has become a centre of hope for these children. The entire effort of the Trustees revolve around these children who are the budding flowers of the society
